Part One: 2001 DS Festival Trip

I got back from the DS 2001 Festival this past week, and I would like to say it was really fun. I was able to meet many of the cast members, attend one of the auctions, visit the vendor room, and see one of the cast reunions. It is really great to see fans from every age attend.
Getting autographs and pictures from some of the cast members was one of the highlights, though waiting in some of the lines lasted for many hours!. I was disappointed that James Storm (Gerard Stiles), who was scheduled to perfom some of his music, was unable to attend.
Saturday was a very busy day at the festival...it was the first time since the the festival started 18 years ago that it was completely sold out. Saturday was the day that auction was held for the life sized portrait of Commodore Nicholas Blaise (it was strange that his eyes followed you around the room). It was great to see how funny so many of the cast members were during the cast reunion. It was a time of laughter, stories, and good natured ribbing. Pictured are Roger Davis (Peter Bradford), Donna Wandrey (Roxanne Drew), Denise Nickerson (Amy Collins), Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie Evans), Marie Wallace (Jenny Collins), David Selby (Quentin Collins), Lara Paker (Angelique Collins), and Christopher Pennock (Gabriel Collins).
